The Gathering Network
From the First Century to Our Own
Imagine Jerusalem, Antioch, or Ephesus in the first century. Small gatherings of believers meet in homes—sharing meals, taking the Lord’s Supper, reading the apostles’ letters, praying, and strengthening one another to obey Jesus despite opposition. The gospel spreads through ordinary disciples as they lead their households, share Christ in their networks, disciple new believers, and form new churches from city to city and region to region. There are no programs, large buildings, or celebrity teachers—only the Word, prayer, the Spirit, fellowship, and an expanding web of disciples, leaders, and churches living under Jesus’s reign.
That same pattern is the heartbeat of The Gathering Network. We exist to help church leaders recover the way of Jesus and his apostles—so that disciples are made, leaders are raised up, and churches multiply with clarity and simplicity.
Welcome to The Gathering Network
We are pastors, church planters, and Christian leaders committed to seeing the gospel advance as believers start, strengthen, and multiply churches. Whether you’re leading a congregation, preparing to plant a church, or taking early steps toward discipling others, we want to come alongside you with encouragement, training, and practical, biblical resources. Our prayer is that the churches we serve will grow in faith, love, and joyful obedience to Jesus—so that the gospel spreads to the ends of the earth.
Our Vision
We exist to start, strengthen, and multiply churches by building up the body of Christ in four key contexts: in homes, in cities, in regions, and throughout the world. The apostles utilized those four categories to advance the gospel, and we believe they remain essential for the church’s mission today.
Our Mission
Jesus gave his church one mission: to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18–20; Acts 1:8). We pursue this mission by:
Gathering regularly in homes to take the Lord’s Supper, study God’s Word, pray, and minister to one another in love.
Training believers to evangelize unbelievers, disciple believers, and raise up new leaders within their personal networks—family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
As disciples multiply and leaders are developed, new churches form and spread for the glory of Jesus.
Our Focus
Resources – Simple, practical, print-ready tools to help you evangelize, disciple, train leaders, and form new churches.
Training – Individual and group coaching designed to equip, strengthen, and encourage ministry leaders.
Partnership – Support for leaders and churches who want to pursue Jesus’s mission together.
We are here to assist you—whether you’re seeking biblical tools, encouragement in ministry, or a network of like-minded leaders pursuing the way of Jesus.
The Challenges We See—and the Way of Jesus and His Apostles We Pursue
Jesus trained his followers in a simple, multiplying pattern of ministry that spread from Jerusalem to the nations. Yet many believers and leaders today lack the clarity, direction, and biblical pathway Jesus gave his apostles. We exist to help the church recover Jesus’s vision and mission and to follow his apostolic pattern of evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development—so that believers mature, leaders multiply, and churches reproduce for the glory of Jesus’s name among the nations.
1. Vision
The Challenge We See: Many churches desire to “reach the world for Christ” but lack a clear, biblical vision for their own neighborhoods, cities, regions, and the nations.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We pursue Jesus’s global vision to start, strengthen, and multiply disciples, leaders, and churches in homes, and throughout cities, regions, and the world.
2. Mission
The Challenge We See: Believers are busy with church activities but are often unclear how Jesus’s mission shapes their everyday relationships and priorities.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We pursue Jesus’s mission to make disciples in our networks, cities, and among the nations, so that every believer knows how to share their faith and disciple others.
3. Strategy
The Challenge We See: Churches often rely on programs and events but lack a simple, biblical, and reproducible approach that leads to multiplication.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We pursue a clear, relational pathway of evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development that ordinary believers can practice, pass on, and adapt in any context.
4. Meal-Based Gatherings Centered on the Lord’s Supper
The Challenge We See: Church life is often centered on weekly services and structured programs rather than shared life together around Jesus and his table.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We gather in homes to share meals, the Lord’s Supper, Scripture, prayer, and mutual ministry—cultivating a pattern of life that is relational, Spirit-led, and easily reproducible.
5. Resources to Get Men Teaching Others Faster
The Challenge We See: Many men desire to lead spiritually—in their homes, neighborhoods, and churches—but feel under-equipped to open Scripture and teach others with clarity and confidence.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We equip men with simple, Scripture-centered, discussion-based tools—like The Discipleship Series—so they can quickly and faithfully begin teaching and discipling others.
6. Leadership Pipeline
The Challenge We See: Few churches have a clear way to identify, develop, and send out new leaders beyond a small core of staff or volunteers.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We cultivate a simple, relational leadership pathway that trains believers to shepherd, teach, and lead churches across generations and locations.
7. Coaching and Accountability Structures
The Challenge We See: Believers often lack ongoing support and accountability, so good intentions fade and obedience to Jesus stalls.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We foster simple rhythms of coaching and accountability—one-to-one and in groups—to help believers get established in the faith and stay fruitful in his mission.
8. The Word, Prayer, and Fasting
The Challenge We See: Movements lose power—or never begin—when Scripture, prayer, and fasting are occasional add-ons instead of central habits.
The Way of Jesus We Pursue: We pursue daily and group rhythms of the Word (God speaking to us), prayer (our response to God), and fasting (expressing our deep dependence and hunger for his presence and power).
Our Posture
We acknowledge that we are not immune to these challenges. Yet by God’s grace, we are seeking to walk in the way of Jesus and his apostles—in a way that can be lived and shared by others.
